Intercity buses
Almost all cities and towns are connected by bus. Buses are cheap and easy to use, and you can choose from two types: VIP or economy.
VIP: Thesebuses are great for overnight travel (and are very comfortable!)Expect to pay around 500,000 IRR ($15) for a 10-hour drive.Economy: These buses are best for daytime travel. A 10-hour drive costs around 250,00 IRR ($7.50).
How to Travel by public transport in Iran?
Taxi
“Savaari”s is the word for shared taxis that travel between cities (rides up to three hours). Minibusses and taxis aren’t the most comfortable ways to travel, but they’re much faster and easier to use. They’re also very affordable! You can find these taxis on most squares, terminals, and anywhere near the entrance of cities.
Yellow is the formal color of the taxis. The green ones charge you more. For safe traveling to cities, you can use this company. Recently it has been possible for those travelers who wish to have an exclusive chauffeured trip to benefit from luxurious services with 2015 Toyota cars from Tehran.
How to Navigate Transport in Iran?
Car hire
You can hire a private car for any destination. Expect to pay between $50 to $150 for one day (depending on your destination). You can ask your hotel reception to help you out with finding a reliable driver.

Train
Traveling by train is one of the best ways to get around Iran. They’re affordable, comfy, and just a really nice way to travel through Iran. Most cities have a train station, and Tehran is the main hub where there are daily trains to a number of different destinations.
If you’re traveling further, you can look into overnight trains, which provide beds and bathrooms for you as well as snacks and other amenities. Make sure you book your train ticket a few days before your journey (particularly during busy holiday periods or weekends). You can book your ticket online, by phone, at the train station – or with the help of your hotel reception.
Airplane
