If you’re the free-spirit type of traveler and you’re looking to plan your own trip to Iran instead of using pre-planned tour packages, it can get pretty complicated, but fear not!
We’re here to help you plan your adventure, so here’s a handy checklist of things to look out for when getting started:
Websites you’re probably used to booking your trips on aren’t available in Iran – so you’re going to have to get a little more creative.
There are some local booking websites you can rummage through to find your accommodation in your chosen Iranian city (you can book and pay online with international credit or debit cards – some even accept PayPal).
Here’s where it gets a little tricky. If you’re on the lookout for a cheaper place to stay, such as hostels or B&Bs, there isn’t as much choice as you’re probably used to! (don’t worry – we can help you with this as you’ll see further down this post).
If you see ‘booking confirmed’ pop up – don’t relax just yet! This doesn’t mean your room is confirmed, it just means that your booking request has been processed. Remember: most of these booking sites act as the middleman, therefore, they won’t be able to take payments to get your room properly confirmed.
So as you can see, this process will take you a little longer than your usual speedy instant bookings, so to avoid standing in the middle of an airport without a place to stay – give yourself as much time as possible to book your accommodation.
